The many departments involved in the Center for Underground Construction & Tunneling (UC&T) offer a collection of courses specifically for UC&T that is unmatched anywhere in the U.S. We offer courses that directly address site investigation, analysis, design, construction and project management of underground structures as well as fundamental courses in soil mechanics, rock mechanics, groundwater, structures and risk assessment needed for this complex field.
Please see required and elective UC&T courses offered at Mines for undergraduates and graduate students. You can visit the Colorado School of Mines (CSM) online bulletin and peruse the departments of Civil & Environmental, Geology & Geological, and Mining Engineering for a broader list of courses.
In addition, CSM hosts several industry-focused multi-day short courses each year on topics such as tunneling, microtunneling and grouting. CSM students can attend these short courses to learn about innovations in the UC&T industry and to network with industry professionals.
