WELCOME
The University Transportation Center (UTC) for Underground Transportation Infrastructure is established by a U.S. Department of Transportation grant. A Tier 1 US DOT-funded UTC, led by Colorado School of Mines, operating as a consortium with The California State University, Los Angeles and Lehigh University.
This is the first and only UTC focused on underground construction. Operating with a mission to be a leader in the development of sustainable, less costly and more durable technologies for underground transportation infrastructures that can be efficiently constructed, operated and maintained, providing solutions for future underground transportation projects.
